Dr Iresha De Silva is a General and Developmental Paediatrician and is available to provide a wide range of paediatric services. She is dedicated and committed to the care and wellbeing of children of all ages and has been practicing Paediatrics since 2006. She is trained with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
Dr Iresha gained extensive experience in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics while working in a tertiary child developmental assessment unit specialised in the assessment, diagnosis and management of complex developmental and behaviour problems.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia. She has dual fellowships in General Paediatrics and Community and Developmental Paediatrics.
She is an accredited administrator for Griffiths III Developmental Scales, which is a validated tool for formal developmental assessments and ADOS-2 which is an Autism diagnostic tool. She is well versed with various developmental and behavioural assessment tools as well as adaptive functioning scales to assess complex developmental and behavioural needs of children.
She is also able to assess tongue-ties in newborns/infants and release tongue-ties if required.
Iresha has a holistic approach with a focus on family wellbeing and welfare. With two school-aged children of her own, Iresha has a good understanding of the rewards and the challenges of parenting and understands each parent’s wish for every child to reach their full potential in health and wellbeing.
She is fluent in Sinhala and English.
