Dr Iresha De Silva is a General and Developmental Paediatrician and provides a comprehensive range of paediatric services through her deep commitment to the care and wellbeing for children of all ages. With a dedicated career in paediatrics since 2006, she brings extensive experience and compassion to her practice.
Dr Iresha gained extensive experience in Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics while working in a tertiary child developmental assessment unit specialised in the assessment, diagnosis and management of complex developmental and behavioural problems.
She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of The Australian Society for Developmental Paediatrics. She has dual fellowships in General Paediatrics and Community and Developmental Paediatrics, along with a Masters in Public Health from the University of Sydney.
She is an accredited administrator of the Griffiths III Developmental Assessment Scales and ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition). She is also well-versed in a range of developmental and behavioural assessment tools, which she uses to evaluate the complex developmental and behavioural needs of children.
She is also qualified to assess tongue-ties in newborns and infants, and perform tongue-tie releases when clinically indicated.
Iresha adopts a holistic approach, with a strong focus on family wellbeing and welfare. As a mother of two school-aged children, she brings personal insight into both the rewards and challenges of parenting, which enhances her understanding of every parent’s aspiration for their child to achieve their fullest potential in health and overall wellbeing.
She is fluent in Sinhala and English.
